Gertjan Holleman

Gertjan (1963) was born in Hoek van Holland, the Netherlands.
At 19, Gert went to the “Willem de Kooning” Academy of Art in Rotterdam, where he studied Fashion Design (1982-1986).
After art school, Gert created the famous model agency MAX Models, which he owned for 24 years. Due to his interest in the male and female body, Gert continued to paint mostly nude models, with acrylic paint on paper or canvas.
In 2014 Gert sold his modeling agency and moved to Ibiza. Here came the idea of “going back to his roots” and starting to design again. After two inspiring trips to China, he came with his first collection cushions. In 2018 Gert started painting again.
In March 2021 Gert moved to Alicante, where his husband Johan Verveer designs and makes kitchens. He continues painting and giving classes and started an art market in Rojales, 52 kilometers from Alicante city.
